This past quarter the Aaron Snowden chapter did two flag presentations and participated in a Veterans Day ceremony, in addition to other activities. We have twelve new prospects in progress with new registrar Randy Turner. One new member, Jack Holliday, has been inducted into our chapter.
L.E.A.D. Academy held the SAR poster contest and the sixth grade winners are included in this picture. Veterans Day was a big event for the chapter in that a large wreath was presented at the opening ceremony following the parade. The last item on the schedule of events was the dedication of the Sons of the American Revolution Liberty Tree marker at a selected designated tree in the Veterans Plaza in Milton. A short presentation speech on the history and significance of the tree was made before the unveiling.
The Aaron Snowden Chapter was invited along with local DAR chapters to a tree planting at the University of West Florida. Two trees were planted in a prominent place and dedicated to the Sons of American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Aaron Snowden Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution serves Milton County in Northwest Florida. We meet the third Saturday of the month (except summer) at 9:00 a.m. at the Milton Library on Alabama Street. Click on the map below to get directions from your location.
